Nigerian actor Jim Iyke was cast in the lead role as Jack Zollo, the fictionalized version of Kiriamiti himself. The filming rights were secured by Kirina Productions from the East African Educational Publishers, with producers including Janet Kirina, Neil Schell, and Lucy Chodota. Filming was scheduled to begin in September 2013, with a reported budget of 35 million Kenyan shillings.
