Allah explains that everything on Earth—wealth, nature, technology, and status—is merely Zeenah (adornment). It is a temporary cosmetic layer designed to test human intent: who will use these blessings for good, and who will become enslaved by them?

To reframe the grief mentioned in verse 6, Allah shifts the perspective to the cosmic purpose of material reality in verses 7 and 8. surah kahf 6-10
