Be cautious when removing large-scale expansions (like Stardew Valley Expanded or Ridgeside Village) midway through a playthrough. These mods alter map layouts and add custom items to your inventory. Removing them can cause the vanilla game to crash when it searches your save file for items or locations that no longer exist. Always clear your inventory, chests, and fields of modded assets before attempting to revert a save file back to a completely vanilla state.
Before you install any major new mod (like Stardew Valley Expanded or Ridgeside Village ), always— always —copy your Saves folder to your desktop. A minute of prevention saves a thousand hours of heartbreak.

Each folder contains two main files:
Right-click the main save file ( FarmerName_123456789 ) and choose (or Notepad++).
Because Stardew Valley uses the same file structure across multiple platforms, you can transfer your PC farm directly to your mobile phone.
Delete the _old text from the filename so it reads exactly like the original main file ( FarmerName_123456789 ).
