Shortly after winning the nationals, a mysterious group of football players claiming to be aliens destroys Raimon Junior High. Mark and a newly assembled team travel across Japan in the Inazuma Bus to recruit the country's best players. They must master new, evolved hissatsu techniques to save the world from cosmic destruction.
The story follows Endou Mamoru (known as Mark Evans in the English dub), a cheerful and incredibly determined goalkeeper at Raimon Junior High. The school's soccer club is on the verge of being disbanded, with only a handful of members. Endou's mission is to recruit new players and lead the team to glory in the prestigious Football Frontier tournament.
