Marketed as the successor to the legendary D-50, the Roland D-70 was actually a different beast entirely. It is often considered a prototype for the later JD-800 and JV series, utilizing high-quality that give it a warmer, more "analog" feel than typical sample-playback "romplers" of the era.
Unlike complex VST sample engines, Soundfonts load almost instantly and consume minimal RAM and CPU, making them ideal for heavy project files or older computers.
